missing 2010 mailbox

I have a user who account expired. We then were asked to re-enable the account 2 days later, however, the users mailbox is gone from exchange 2010. It does not show up in disconnected mailboxes and says its not in any database. Any ideas?

Use Adsiedit to look at the homeMDB attribute for that user. What does it say?

Run Adsiedit and drill down
Select Your Domain
DC=YourDomain
OU=The OU where the account is
Right click on the 'CN' of the User you are looking for

If the mailbox was accidentally deleted tun:

 Clean-MailboxDatabase “serverdatabase name”

using Exchange console. This will make the mailbox appear in the Disconnected Mailbox section.
