remote desktop session

I have users that VPN into our network.

Is it possible to start a remote desktop session from a computer on the network to their computer (the client)?

While I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish,  when that person vpn, you have access to their computer as of they're on the same physical network.

Yes it is. Vpn is the bind between their network (or standalone computer) to your network its only necessary to open the ports on the firewall of the vpn device or the computer who are getting connected with

You sure can!  Just open up the remote desktop client and type in the users IP address.  That'll do the trick.

Alternative methods that will work even if the user is not on your network:

TeamViewer - Free software for remotely accessing a computer

Alternatively,

Logmein - Same thing as teamviewer, except it is web based.  Both of these software contain no adware or malware,.

as long as their computer has remote desktop enabled and you are using the right user account and they are not using a HOME version of Windows
