Looping  Reconfigure Task

I seem to have run into a problem with one of my Virtual Desktops (VMWare).. I noticed in vSphere that the 'Reconfigure Virtual Machine' task was showing up (in a repetitive loop, every minute or so) for a single VM.  This started a couple days ago & I'm not having much luck in terms of researching this problem.

About the only thing I've been able to turn up, is that there a conflict between the View Agent on the VM & the connection server. However, this does not block/stop the user from being able to sign on to the desktop in question.  The task itself doesn't offer much information that would help in troubleshooting the cause.

We are running on View 5.0 & VCenter 5.0 with view agents from 4.0.1 & view clients 4.6.  Also, this particular desktop is part of a pool that hold 14 other desktops (all from the same parent) & this is the only machine having this 'issue'.

Any help/thoughts/comments/ideas are appreciated!

    Any backups occuring?

    check vmware view activity logs

    what changes are taking place?

    Assisted Solution

    We don not run backups on this particular desktop group.

    I did find a corresponding view event for this one desktop
    :: Successfully configured video settings for Machine "Machine" in Pool "Pool"  ::

    This led me to the following vmWare kb article
    :: ::
    However, this appears to be for an entire pool & not a lone desktop.

    There haven't been any changes in the last couple of weeks.  We did a recompose last night to implement some changes to some applications we run, but the problem pre-dates those changes & ocurred well after the last round of changes.

    Accepted Solution

    Not entirely sure what was causing the issue, but we removed the desktop & the issue has not recurred on any other VMs..
