Windows 08 server r2. I have 3 drives mapping via gpo. One of those drive mappings is gone. I need to add the replacement but use the same letter. To start i changed it to delete and it never removed it. So i manually disconnected on the pc. I did gpudate on the pc rebooted and all that good stuff. So with only 2 drive mappings in group policy even after i manually removed the 3rd, it manages to come back on every logon. This policy is set to only one group ou and this group does not inherit.
Checked the rsop and it shows drive mappings and only shows 2 that the policy tells it to map?
So i found a reg tweak where you can delete gpo history on the pc. Did that disconnect all the mapped drives reboot and bam the 3rd drive is there.
Where is this thing coming from!!!
Thanks.

Have you check both the computer and user settings in GPO maybe? Maybe a previous admin entered it in two places
