I have just bought an Airport Extreme device from APPLE, I followed all the instructions as the manual indicate, and it is really a weird situation, and I will try to explain as better as I can:
1.- I connected through an ethernet cable from one of the ethernet ports of my DSL Modem to the WAN port of the Airport extreme, as I show inthe pics.
2.- I installed on my Windows 7 laptop the utility "AirPort" and it recognizes the Airport device, but The "orange light" always stays in blinking, and when the utility tries to access to the Extreme airport, I get an error "-4" that says that it canot find in the network the device.
3.- The weird thing is that when I get associated to this device , I get connected to the Internet without problems , I mean, I can surf through the internet using the Apple airport device!!. But I can not configure in manual or assited way either.
4.- Restarted every device and I get the same error, I am really frustrated , because it is supposed that this process would be so easy.
Try connecting an Ethernet cable directly from your computer to one of the jacks in the back of the Airport device and see if it can communicate that way.

Thanks Michael!,, I also did that!,, but the same error, I am suspecting that it may be the host intrusion software I have in my laptop,, am I correct?

You are probably correct - you might have to create an exception for the Airport extreme in your firewall and also in any antivirus or malware software. You could try disabling this software temporarily just while you program the Apple device.
