cannot open .xlsm file

While working on a  .xlsm file, my revised code had an error. It seems I have lost the entire file.

Question: Is there a way to open this file to correct the coded (to recover it)?

Or I have to start all over again? See the attached image for the messages I get.

Thank you.

I may have needed to reboot for some reason because I was have a similar problem with another xlsx file.

After the reboot, the original file opens now. I will make backups with each revision to avoid this kind of loss. If you have any advice in this regard, please do tell me.

Thanks
Thanks, eghtebas.

This MS page gives suggestions for Excel 2010 (and includes links for 2007 and 2003).

I keep an eye on "my" questions for at least a couple of weeks, so please feel to post here again if the problem remains.

Regards,
Brian.
Thank you.
