Microsoft DNS Autoregistration Deletes and Recreates Records

When machines turn on, or run IPCONFIG/RegisterDNS instead of updating existing records it is deleting them and then recreating them.  This would not be a problem but in some instances it is only recreating the IPV6 record and not the IPV4 address running IPConfig/RegisterDNS a second time almost always resolves the issue.  I was told by someone at Microsoft while working on another issue that there was a patch which addresses this issue but I am not able to find it.  Does anyone know where to find this patch.

Thanks

The question was regarding a Microsoft patch which a support engineer told me was available but I could not find.  The problem seems to have diminished on its own so I am assuming that Microsoft may have pushed the patch I was looking for as part of a critical update.  I do not have full faith in this answer because my answer is only a guess.  There have not been any other solutions suggested so I will accept this one.
