I'd like to add a note... if you do decide to go with OpenOffice, encourage management to hold a meeting, tell everyone why the decision has been made, and offer to provide them with OpenOffice on CD/DVD for their home computers so they'll have more opportunities to get comfortable with it. Get their input and get their buy-in. If you don't, you'll be enemy #1 for a long time.
