Kix Logon Script crashes Windows 7

We have a logon scipt with a reg hack that was put in to remove the standby feature in XP.  It worked well until Windows 7 came along.  If you log in with Windows 7 the computer crashes the next time you reboot.  Below is the line

WRITEVALUE("HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ACPI\Parameters","Attributes","70","REG_DWORD")

Does anyone know how we can still do this for XP without crashing the W7 computers?
