publish internal site on server 2008

I have an intranet that was hosted on one of our 2003 servers, internal use only. This 2003 server had been retired. I'd like to host our intranet site on a 2008 R2 server which runs IIS7
The server's name is hopper
I published to hopper\inetpub\wwwroot

Now if I browse our lan, I can see our intranet at http://hopper/index.html

If I browse http://hopper I see iisstart.htm page

How can I get index.html to be viewed through http://hopper ?

Thanks
