ASUS M2N78-LA SATA speed question for new HDD

My PC has a ASUS M2N78-LA mobo. I looked at the HP Spec site since it came in a HP PC but I cna't determine what type SATA connectors the mobo supports.

I'm looking at getting a SATA 3.0 or 6.0 drive but I'm not sure if it's worth the money for the 6.0 if the board won't support the extra speed.

Makes sense. Is there a easy way to determine the speed or are mobo's generally all 3.0?

Sorry brain fart, 3.0 meaning 3gbps, 3.0 SATA is 6gbps.  It's usually easier just to look up chipset specs, since benchmarking results can have a lot of other variables and really good SATA 1.0 controllers are technically capable of 150 MBps.   Mobos that age are rarely 3.0.  Even top of the line aftermarkets like the i7 LGA1366 boards were still SATA 2.0.

Thanks for the help. I'll stick with a SATA 3.0 drive.
