OWA can receive email from internet, but cannot send email to internet.

Hi, OWA can receive email from internet, but cannot send email to internet. I used that Analyzer and got a message, please see attachment. i configured A record and MX in Godaddy, Since the email can be received, it meant the configuration of A record and MX are correct. why does it show error message in that picture ?  The picture seems like a little problem about the configure, but i can receive email from outside email. Thank you.

Are you getting any bounce back? Which version of Exchange your are using. you need to create either SMTP or Send connector to send emails. Opwn the queue viewer and check whether the emails are getting stuck there.

Thank you for your fast reply. So sorry, I was not clear about that. I use Exchange 2010. I tried so many times, and after i sent mails out, i never got any error message and bounce back message, and it looked like everything is normal in the OWA page, but outside email account never receive the emails sent by OWA. All SMTP and Send connector are created.
Did you check the queue viewer. Any emails getting stuck there.
Can you confirm the port 25 is opened by using telnet.
The port 25 is open. When i checked the queue viewer, I got the message(please see attachment). I do not know what that means. Is that my email stuck there?

I telnet another ip address telnet maila.microsoft.com 25, it works

I restarted the Windows 2008, which have Exchange 2010, and then sent email from OWA to my gmail, and the OWA do not have stuck the email, OWA looks normal. But it stuck in Queue Viewer. Please see the picture. Is it possible that there is something wrong with Godaddy configuration?

Here is what needs to be done.

1) Run the following cmdlet and provide feedback

Get-SendConnector | FL

2) Next, check if there is a firewall rule that is misconfigured for opening SMTP Connection to send emails outside.

3) Are you using EDGE Server role too?

In the queue viewer, Under the queues tab you can able to see the domain right. If you scroll towards right hand side then you can able to see the column called "Last error"

In the last error coloumn you can able to see the long error message. Past the information which is with in double codes.

eg: "4.2.1 Unable to connect" like this.

Please dont take the screen shot under the messages tab. go the queues tab and post it here.

Thanks.

BTW, i have not installed CAS server. Is that a problem ?
You are sending emails using DNS, this means that there is no particular smart host that is going to receive these emails.

--> Have you switched off windows firewall on your local Exchange Server
--> CAS Server isn't necessary for mail-flow but it is one of the important roles in your environment, get it installed (for later use)
--> Do you have A/V installed on your Exchange box?
--> Is your network firewall having configuration to block SMTP connection from your IP Address? Anything on router/switch that you are aware of?
--> here is the list of MX Records of gmail.com

Hi, Exchange_Geek, Thank you. the following is my answer to your questions

"--> Have you switched off windows firewall on your local Exchange Server"
-------- I double checked all firewall are off. But my Windows 2008 is installed VPS

"--> Do you have A/V installed on your Exchange box?”
-------- I dont know what A/V is, but i do not think i installed it

"--> Is your network firewall having configuration to block SMTP connection from your IP Address? Anything on router/switch that you are aware of?"
-------- I double checked all firewall are off. But my Windows 2008 is installed VPS. The system is directly exposed to internet

"--> here is the list of MX Records of gmail.com
gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com      173.194.77.27      60 min      Blacklist Check      SMTP Test
10      alt1.gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com      74.125.137.27      60 min      Blacklist Check      SMTP Test ........ "
--------- What does that mean ? it means to test port 25 ? i tested the port 25 is open for that address
I meant to telnet to Google and drop me an email. Are you aware of how to do this?

Exchange_Geek
