Connecting email from Pair Networks to exchange server
I have a Windows Small Business Server 2011 and I am trying to get the exchange server to communicate with the mail provider.
Exchange is installed, but I dont know how to get the mail from the provider to the exchange server.

ASKER
Yes, the A record and MX record are what I mean.
The pop3 connector is interesting, thanks for pointing that out.
I can create an A record, but when I try to create the MX record it says invalid address.
A record
hostname: mail.domain.net
IP: 74.x.x.x
MX Record
A record: mail.domain.net
priority: 0
Host name: server.domain.local, also tried the servers IP

Are you creating this on an internet published DNS Server of yours OR locally on your internal DNS?

ASKER
The DNS records are being created on an internet DNS Server. The exchange server is internal.

This solution is only available to members.
To access this solution, you must be a member of Experts Exchange.
If by mail provider you mean emails are not getting delivered to your SBS-Exchange, you'll need to ensure that a MX record is hosted on internet (Ideally it is done by the team/company that manages your internet DNS) pointing to your Exchange Server OR firewall.
If by mail provider you mean POP access, please refer to the given link for creating a POP Connector
