Windows 8 Pro and CorelDraw X5

I recently had a problem with Corel Draw X5 on Windows 7. Thanks to EE I got the problem solved. Part of the solution involved reinstalling CDX5. Having installed Windows 8 Pro yesterday I noticed that when I reinstalled CDX5 a few weeks ago I had accidentally installed my kids Home & Student version. This worked on Windows 8 but to keep things right and above board I decided to install the commercial version which I've had for 2 years. The upshot of this was it failed to install and also removed the Home & Student version. I've tried twice more but got Installation incomplete. I still have my old version 11 but it can't open any work done using X5. How can I solve this problem please?

Thanks, you're both right of course. RTFM as they used to say.

I can't find my Corel Draw 11 DVD so I don't want to uninstall v11 in case I'm left without any version at all. The odd thing is the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant flagged v11 and said there is a PAID update but it didn't mention X5 at all.

I'll get onto Corel support and report back here so it might help somebody else.
Looks like I'll have to use it only on my laptop. 13" screen! My desktop is a 30" screen. Difficult. Here's what Corel said:
Thank you for contacting Corel Customer Support.
Thank you for your email. Kindly be advised that CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 only runs on a system that has Microsoft® Windows® 7, Windows Vista®, Windows® XP, with latest service packs installed (32-bit or 64-bit editions).
Please take note that you can install the program, however, Corel will not guarantee the stability of the program. To be able to use again the program to its fullest, you need to install it on either of the above mentioned operating systems.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with any further questions.

I've asked them if they intend to correct this situation. They probably don't but let's see if I get a reply. They should offer a big discount to upgrade to X6.
