Suse Linux on VMware vs Power Linux (IBM)

We are planning to install our tivoli software that we are currently running on a VMware enviorment onder suse linux 11 also under a IBM Power 7(LINUX) partition.
while the operating system is also Suse linux, we believe there is a architecturial difference.
intel v.s. risc. So there are some open questions for us:

Does Power linux works with Motif under Suse Linux 11
What are dependencies and c+ lib.
Does the NX server works with  Power linux or other grafiscal tools
Does DB2 works the same under this platform

you should not have to deal with libraries and similar stuff. vmware is supposed to emulate whatever architecture you want so the machine does not even know about the physical architecture of the host. some features such as direct memory mapping will not work, and most CPU instructions will likely be emulated so there should be a huge performance cost. i'm not 100% sure that vmware does know how to emulate what you specificaly required, but to make it short, it will either work without a library fuss or not work at all, and it is a bad idea to emulate a different architecture if you want speed. if you cannot emulate your arch under vmware, and you really need to do so, qemu should be able to do it, but the performance will be lamish.

no idea about the NX server

DB2 should work under this platform, but it is a VERY bad idea to virtualise a database as a general rule, and having different architectures will only make it worse. a rule of thumb relative to database virtualisation is unless your whole database size is smaller than your RAM, or you only want a test server with little to no traffic, just don't do it.

Most important question is this.

Can the software that we are running (tivoli with db2) is a light database.
that today works under VMware-SUSE Linux 11 also run under Power Linux-SUSE Linux 11?

We would like to install Suse Linux 11 as a virtual lpar and than install tivoli monitoring v6.2.3. on top off that CZZ3DEN
Is that a problem?
that will not work, for it to work it must be listed as "Linux on POWER" as per CZ1HTEN
