SHP SHX PRJ DBF Files
Hi, i have some files SHP,SHJ ,SBN DBF , files. Searching the internet i found out that those are file that work with ArcGis.
I could use those files to map data (from SQL Server), within a web application.
Are there any products that could help me do this other than a full ArcGis Installation ?
Something like GRASS or Geoserver or a commercial license ?
Even some ArcGis Products, i just want to avoid overpaying for a solution

What programming languages do you want to use? What is the application intended to do?

I want to project data, that is already related to these files.
The understanding i have of these files(SHP...), is that they contain town and street information.
I have data with street information that can be pinpointed to those maps.
i Have seen an ArcGis Api for silverlight, but i think that it is an add on of ArcGis and given the limited functionality of my need of just displaying , maybe, is an overkill having to buy ArcGis. So i wanted to know what could be a more fitted solution, free or commercial, that could help me display these files, displaying also the data from MSSQL.
The language i intend to use is ASP.NET, but i could use another language if there is a solution there.
My intention is to display, not to capture data.
