QOS Issue - Packets not getting tagged with DSCP

Hey Guys,

We implementing QOS tagging on a Cisco 3560 switch… and for some reason packets that match the ACL’s are not getting tagged with the DSCP. This really has me stumped as everything appears to be configured correctly. Even the class-default is tagging any packets.

SWITCH01#show policy-map interface vlan 151
 Vlan151

  Service-policy input: PMGOLD_IN

    Class-map: CMGOLD_EF (match-any)
      0 packets, 0 bytes
offered rate 0 bps, drop rate 0 bps
      Match: access-group name ACLGOLD_EF
        0 packets, 0 bytes
         rate 0 bps

    Class-map: class-default (match-any)
      0 packets, 0 bytes
offered rate 0 bps, drop rate 0 bps
      Match: any
        0 packets, 0 bytes
         rate 0 bps

SWITCH01#show mls qos
QoS is enabled
QoS ip packet dscp rewrite is enabled

interface GigabitEthernet0/10
switchport access vlan 151
mls qos vlan-based

interface Vlan151
ip address 192.x.x.x 255.255.255.0
service-policy input PMGOLD_IN

SWTICH01#show class-map
Class Map match-any class-default (id 0)
   Match any

 Class Map match-any CMGOLD_EF (id 4)
  Match access-group name ACLGOLD_EF

SWTICH01#show policy-map
  Policy Map PMGOLD_IN
    Class CMGOLD_EF
      set dscp ef
    Class class-default
      set dscp af11

Are you using the 3560 as your router? Because if your traffic is not traversing VLANs on your 3560 your not going to have QoS applied.

If you have multiple vlans on that 3560, configure a workstation to point to that switch as your default gateway and you should see those numbers increase.

You should apply the marking policy at the port level, not the VLAN level.

Example:

interface FastEthernet0/19
service-policy input PMGOLD_IN

This will tag the packets as they enter the switch, not just when a packet gets routed.
