difference between snmp vs wmi?

what's the difference between snmp vs wmi? will both protocol provide the same information for the windows system?

Perhaps the simplest way to compare and contrast SNMP and WMI is with an analogy:

SNMP is to WMI in the same way that:

    FTP is to Windows Folder Sharing (SMB)
    POP3 is to Exchange ActiveSync
    VNC is to Remote Desktop
They accomplish similar goals, but one is a standardized open protocol, the other is a proprietary protocol written by Microsoft that usually has some extra functionality specific to Windows.

thanks! so if I am monitoring a windows machine, which protocol would provid me more info? wmi or snmp? and which protoco it's more precise and less bandwidth and cpu usage?
