Question - How to delegate a mailbox to a group instead a specific person

Dear All,

Is possible to delegate a mailbox to a group instead to a specific person. We can not find the option.

Thanks in advance,
David.

What does delegate mean?

Industry wide, folks part of a group are provided access to the mailbox in terms of full-mailbox access OR calendar rights OR Send-As rights.

I'm not even sure EMC would allow you to assign rights to a group, try via OL it may allow you to do it - try working with Mail-enabled security group NOT distribution group.

If by Delegation you mean "Full Mailbox Access" or "SendAs" then surely it can be done with some shell commands.

If you could elaborate your concern more for us.

If Using the Built IN Delegate Settings in Outlook

File>Account Settings Drop Down> Delegate Access>

From here you can add eigther an Individual User, or a Group as an delegate to:
(We use Mail Enabled, Universal Sec Groups which are acessible via GAL i.e. ALL STAFF)
Although I think you can use any Dist Groups in the GAL

Calendar
Tasks
Inbox
Contacts
Notes
Journal

Hi to All,

Clarifying your question when I say delegate I want to say -->  "Full Mailbox Access". So, which is the best option?

Thanks again,
David.

Hi All,

So, to summarize:

- I have to create a new security global group
- include the members I want there
- and finally via Emc give full access.. Over that specific mailbox account.

Is it right?

Thanks,
David
That's it.
