Unable to connect Windows Server 2008 R2 to Windows Server 2012

I have a Windows Server 2012 Domain Controller running DHCP.

I want to connect a Windows Server 2008 R2 to the domain. It is set up to obtain IP from the DHCP server. But it is unable to identify the network. It says "Unidentified Network". The 2008 server is only running the File and Web (IIS) roles.

I have a Windows 7 pc connecting to the network without problems.

It is something special I must do to make the 2008 server connect?

It should connect just as the windows 7 machine does.  Try giving it a static ip address.. DHCP should work. BTW you might want to download the WINRM updates (which include powershell 3.0) so you can manage it via the win2k12 server
