Can I reach a VM console without using the vSphere Client

Hello

I am running vmware ESX 5.0. I am looking for a way to remote the console of my VM:s without using the vSphere client. Is there another "lighter" client that just gives me access to the console of my different vm:s without vSphere?

I need to remote controle my vm:s console, that is all ip-based access to the vm:s (ssh, teamviewer, rdp, vnc and so on) is NOT what I am looking for. The client I hope exists runs IP from my client computer to the ESX host just the way the vSphere client does.

Does it exist? Can I do that?

Thanks in advance!
