Protect Workbook

I have a user who will use various sheets of the workbook.  Can I protect workbook.  I tried: Review-Protect Workbook.  Disadvantage of this approach: user does not see prompt when she opens workbook. Another approach is to protect worksheet using format-protect worksheet.  Not sure which approach is best to use

The second approach would be best if more than one user must use the workbook and not see some of the sheets.  ... Thinkpads_User

Thanks a lot ecaborne.  However, these restrictions also enforced for myself even though I put password.  I got message that "file will be open as read-only unless I need to save it".  This part is not necessary.
This prompt should work for user only.  I should be able to open file without any restrictions

Since you are the only one who knows the password, just enter it each time you open the Excel document.

Once you have entered the password, the workbook is completely unlocked and you have full control. When you tried it, are you SURE you entered the right password?

When a user opens the workbook, they don't know the password so they click 'Read Only' or 'OK'.
