BCC all outgoing email to a single address w/Lotus Domion 8.5.3

I have a customer on Domino 8.5.3 that wants all outgoing email to be BCC to a single email address (the owner) ... I know it seems like a waste, but that is what they want. I can easily setup a rule for incoming email, but how would I go about it for out-going. I thought perhaps an agent triggered in mail.box file, but couldn't get that to work. Looking for ideas.

Mail journaling would work, but after evaluating all of them, we modified the template to BCC the mail with an address forwarded w/person document. We set up a person document that forwarded the email to the owner's account -seems to be working ok, only thing is the change forced the BCC field to show on all messages. Customer was ok w/this as employees know the email is being monitored.  Thanx a bunch.

Customer is also aware of the fact that, every time he gets an update of the Domino environment, someone (you?) have to reapply the changes? Potentially after every fix pack? I can understand you gave us a "B", but do you think your solution is worth an "A"? What are the advantages??

I just wonder how your evaluation could went in favour of modifying the mail template...

Hope is works out for the customer!

Customer was running gmail via pop3 to outlook express until 4 weeks ago. main business software hadn't been updated in 9 years. So no big deal on the updates, probably will be a while. I would be doing them anyway and I know about the issue.  I've still got 11 years to retirement so it's not like I am leaving soon, and it's documented in the customer file.

We are just forwarding the email to the owners earthlink account and he reads them on his iPhone. Super nice folks but not to "technogeek" ...

So it's decidedly not a perfect solution - we understand the issue of updates overwriting the NTF files. Plus we can get the mail into a journal easily .. basically all mail sent by that contains "domainname.com" users get journal'd but then we have to forward all that mail to the owner, more issues. They don't want archiving, they just want the mail forwarded to the owner. If this doesn't work out (I suspect after getting 100+ messages a day for a week or two the owner will decide he doesn't like this as much as he thought).. Then if he just wishes archiving, we can setup journaling.  But basically modding the template was just a brute force approach. Don't know if that is an "A" solution - nothing really does what we wanted easily. I would have preferred they went with a mail scanning service that archived and put those archives up for the owner view... much cleaner less local resource intensive solution. But that is not what they wanted, it's not a perfect world.

Given the whole picture: definitely an "A" !
