I tried to run this code but wasnt reflecting my css changes...

lietaers amendment will fix your code.

For info, you only need to use #p1 for one specific id, or p for all paragraph tags. Due to the fact that an id should only ever be used once in a page, there should never be a need to specify "the paragraph tag with id='p1'".
