outlook migration issue

I am moving outlook datafile (PST) from Google APPS outlook email client  to Office 365 exchange online  outlook email accounts then when I create  firstly the profile and setup  the exchange email account then I move the old outlook data file into the new exchange outlook account using  – file – account setting – data files - new outlook datafile, the outlook is creating two separate personal folders

When I add new outlook datafile the outlook is creating two personal outlook folders like two inbox and two sent items like when you have more than one email is configured in the same outlook profile so what is the problem ?

one of the two personal folders  is working and receiving emails.

kindly see the attached  screenshot

my case is we are moving from pop3 email accounts to exchange email accounts so if use import & export option the outlook  will sync up the exchange server  so that I need alternative option to copy this pop email pst files into the exchange account
how your Exchange account is configured? (IMAP,POP3)

it's IMAP
So you should have only one PST file and one OST file for the new account

Try open new Outlook profile set your Exchange account

and then open the PST file from Outlook File->Open->Open Outlook Data File

Ok great, when  setup the exchange account and then I open the pst file from  Outlook File->Open->Open Outlook Data File, the outlook is creating personal PST folder that has inbox, sentmail  and all the personal email folders   but what I need is  to copy the outlook datafile into the same folder in the exchange account so how can I achieve that ?

Are we together please or do you need to elaborate more on this matter?

kindly see the attached screen shot

I don't think there is a way to merge the PST into the Exchange without sync the data
into the new Exchange

okey, what is the best way to do if I can import the files into the same exchange email folder do you recomend two seperate PST folder under same profile, one is the old account and one is the new account .

Kindly advise the best way to migrate pop3 users to exchange email
I personally would merge them i don't trust PST files and had many problem with them

If you have huge PST file then i would suggest to stay with your current configuration don't forget to always backup your PST

thanks liork for the support.

(I don't think there is a way to merge the PST into the Exchange without sync the data
into the new Exchange)

if there is no way to achieve this, how can you achieve to place large pst files (7GB) from pop3 email account in to the new exchange server ? so that the user is able  to veiw and search his old pop3 email account.
No problem i'm happy to assist :)

You can open the PST file as i suggested and then to add file location to 'indexing options'
under Control Panel and then you can search the PST file with no problems

it takes time to the index service to index 7GB file.. but it should work

I have checked my indexing location and outlook is already there so is my indexing working now? . refer the attached screenshot

When I open the PST file as you suggested and then how does the user search both of the two personal folders (outlook default personal folder and opened pst files)
ScreenShot013.jpg
You need to add the local folder where the PST is located, I have one in C:/PST folder
so i add c:/PST to Index options
and under search option in Outlook mark the 'All Folder' under 'Include results only from'
