asked on

Multiple Action Pages for a form

Experts-

I have a form

<form action="myAction.cfm" method="post" name="FreeConsultationForm">

Is there a way for me to have multiple action pages with a single submit button?  So if a user fills out a form, is there a way on my action page to send the information to two different databases on two different servers?

Thanks
Nick

not really but your "action" page can do just about anything you like

multiple cfquery's to update multiple db's
multiple cffile's to upload to multiple servers etc.
To be clear my "not really" is in response to  "multiple action pages with a single submit button"

your action page can use form variables passed to it for any number of queries

So, my action page currently makes an insert into my database.  I have a client who is asking us to also post the content of the page to one of their action pages.  This is what I wasn't sure about.  I don't think it can be done this way.
You can probably do it using cfhttp and the post method

http://livedocs.adobe.com/coldfusion/8/htmldocs/help.html?content=remoteServers_5.html

basically you do your form processing and then just pass the variables to cfhttp which can then post to the remote server

Sid-

If I am reading this correct, it seems like cfHTTP works only on a CF page.  So, my initial action page is CF, but the action page that I need to post to for teh client is .aspx.  I'm guessing this won't work as it is not hitting another CF page
