Hi wpm,

I've created raw15 raw device by having oracle:database permissions.

mklv -t raw -y raw15 -U oracle -G database -P 660 vg_oracle 2048M

What I've noticed is that for both block device/character device permissions, everything is done by having oracle:database permissions.

From what I remember before, I think the block device must have root:system permissions?

Is what happened normal?

Thanks!

One question, if let's say I would have to change permissions for a /dev/rraw15 (for example), is it OK to change permissions with chown user:group /dev/rraw15  ?

No file systems here I think, need a raw only that has to be managed by oracle.
Yes, chown is OK.

mklv does nothing different, internally.
