WMI Errors & SBS 2008

Hi guys,

I consistently receive an error message within the SBS Console > Security > Security > Antivirus.

All clients state that "Permission to the security center on this computer may not be granted".

We use two different AV products have the same issue across the board.

The inherited SBS configuration was messy and I had to do a lot of tidying to get everything to how it should be (almost there now).  This Security Center issue has been going on for some time and I have exhausted many different possible solutions (comparing GPO's across similar sites, removing from the domain and re-adding, checking DCOM permissions).

One article from the spiceworks community I looked at (which I can no longer locate) suggested trying to run "net view \\computername" from the SBS as part of the troubleshooting process.  Running this produced the result "There are no entries in the list".

I therefore think I have isolated the issue to WMI on each client PC.

I have ran the MS WMI Diagnosis Utility and ran it on two different clients (Both Windows 7 Pro 64-bit with SP1).  I attach the log of one 'run' to this post.  Both machines had the same number of errors (30).

I need your help deciphering this as well as suggesting possible solutions...

I followed the suggestions from Arthur_Li in this post here > however this made the situation worse.  After rebooting and re-running the diagnostic tool I had over 70 errors, System Restore was my friend in that instance.

I guess my questions are:

1. Are 30 errors normal for a Windows 7 PC within an SBS 2008 environment?

2. If so, why can't I "net view \\computername" even with the Firewalls switched off on both Server and Client?

3. If they're not normal, how can I resolve them?

Kind regards,

Ugh, I'm so sorry.

The thread you provided me with is the one I meant to link to in my original post.

The thread I linked to had no replies by Arthur_Li, so I wouldn't be surprised if that caused you some confusion.

After implementing Arthur_Li's suggestions I ended up with double the WMI error count.
