Import Relationships

Experts,

I have db that I typically reimport into new db as part of the process of keeping corruption low.

I just imported and noticed that the relationships did not import.
I need to change a relationship but I cant because the relationships did not import.

Can I import relationships from the previous db?  I dont know why the relationships did not import.  They usually do.  I imported all objects at the same time.

thanks

I would guess that even though the relationships are not defined they still apply.  The reason why I say this is because I have a relationship with Cascade Deletes.  When I delete something that relationship seems to still apply, even thouugh not defined anylonger, because it deletes the related data in the other table and this relationship is something I want to remove.

what do you think?  thanks..

I did run the compact and repair...
Right-click in the relationships window and choose Show All

Peter:  that is not it either.  I dont know what happened.  I did a reimport into another db and the relationships did import.  I didnt do anything different.  Only thing I could think is that I did encounter an error in the db and it froze and a backup was created.  This was not during the import though but it happened sometime around the import and I wonder if relationships could have been deleted somehow.  I looked in my old db and the relationships are there.

I dont know how to get them into my new db other than recreating them.  Any other ideas?

thank you.

Jeff:  the relationships are in the old db.  I just checked.  I dont think posting a db is going to help much because I stated that I reimported and the relationships did import but now I have old data.

I think what I can do it reimport my new data to the old db and dont check the import relationships button and hopefully it wont import any relationships and leave the relationships as is.

What do you think?
...Because this is getting confusing now...
I would not take a chance.

I would just find the last DB that had the correct relationships and go with that.

I would be working off old data.  I was thinking I could delete the tables and reimport data from the new db but I just remember that I think I have to delete relationships before deleting tables.  I could import as tbl(2)

what do you think about that?
Up to you really...

On the one hand, you might keep the updated records but loose the Relationships.
On the other hand, you get the relationships, but you might loose some records...

I really can't make that decision for you with any certainty.
