OCR Scanning PDF's (again!)

Hi folks,

Some of you may remember previous queries of a similar nature.

1. I will be getting some paper documents tomorrow, numeric lists.
2. I want to scan them and pass them into Excel (this matter has been addressed earlier).

I keep seeing mention of "PDF's".
I have a scanner and it generates jpeg's.

Does the fact that I will have a jpeg make it more difficult to pass it into Excel (via OCR).  ??
I.e. Must I have a PDF ?   Is a jpeg no good?

(Note that I am likely to be using a product such as ABBYY to convert to Excel).

Thanks Joe,
I understand. Very helpful.

Tomorrow will be an interesting day for me.
I am a freelancer and business is quiet.

However, if the document I get tomorrow is capable of being loaded to excel then it could result in a significant boost for me. this space ...!
I'll keep an eye out for the doc tomorrow and will run it through OCR (into Excel!) as soon as I see it. But keep in mind that I am in the USA Central time zone, so please don't close out the question in my wee hours. :)   Cheers, Joe
Thanks Joe,

Good night from Dublin, Ireland.
Ah, I love Dublin! Used to travel occasionally to the big Dell plant in Limerick (pity that they closed it), and would always try to get in a side trip to Dublin. Great city!
