reseting local administrator passwords on windows 7

Hi experts,

I want to reset a local administrator password on Windows 7 as i dont know the password.
Is there a easy way to reset the password.

If you set up Windows 7 properly, Administrator is disabled and has no password. For the userid that was first set up and is a member of the administrators group, there is a routine to save the credentials for later recovery of the password. You may not have set that up.

Is the userid you are using now also a member of the administrators group? If so you should be able to reset the password of the initial userid.

Sorry this is a standalone.I do not have anyother access.
That being the case and if you did not make the recovery disk, then you probably need to back up your data and reinstall Windows.

ntpasswd that is referenced there might help you reset the password.  Note that if you used EFS, or other options, access to the files might be lost.
