HP Smart Array P420i - Alert reported

Seem to have a issue with our fresh out of box Proliant DL380 G8.

Have used the HP custom ESXi Image so drivers should be installed. But we get a alert against the RAID card.

We are not using HP authentic SSD's and using Crucial MK 4 512gb SSD's due to price. But I couldn't find anything that said these are not compatible with ESXi. (they shown up as Status unknown)

most recent firmware appears to be installed, i am yet to connect this to a vcenter.

Please see image.

OK that's correct. They are RAID 5.

But why am i receiving the alert for RAID card? I dont seem to be able to track it down within the event's. Theres no reason for it.
it's possibly triggered by non HP storage devices. e.g. Unknown

if you have updated to the latest Firmware DVD, you would need to escalate to HP Support and Ask them, what the issue is.

Have you checked Array Status using ACU on the Smart Start DVD?

Yes the ACU looks fine.
It reports about the disk's not being authentic HP ones. But there are no other errors or warnings throughout. I am running the Firmware update at the moment, but I'm pretty confident we are on the most recent version.

Thanks for the replies will keep you posted.
If you're not using HP SSD the error will most likely stay since HP has firmware on their disks that integrate with the storage controller.

Upgraded firmware but issue appears to still be there. We will have to look at getting the HP disks at some point.

Alerts were because of the SSD Disks not being HP firmware.
