Server 2008 R2 GPO Start Menu XP

Hello Experts,

My issue is I have a 2008 R2 server (fully updated) I created a GPO for XP start menu under
User Configurations \ Preferences \ Control Panel Settings \ Start Menu

I create a new start menu, make adjustments and save. On the workstations (XP and fully updated and clean), I ran gpupdate / force, the gpresult and can see the policy applied but none of the settings are there.

When I go back to the start menu settings on the server GPO they are back to default.

Has anyone used this before and got it working?

My issue is the Printers and Faxes option still shows, any idea?
Is it set in your gpo as do not show? did you do a gpupdate /force and then logout and relogon?
I have it set not to show on the windows xp start menu, I did the gpudate /force, log out and in but it is still there.

When I go back to look at the settings of the start menu on the GPO, the advanced ones always go back to default. Is it the same for you?
No they always stay as I set them. Try gpresult on one of the machines as a user that is affected by the gpo and see if it is getting overridden somewhere.
Even if the client is getting the GPO overridden else where, the actual Group Policy Menu always defaults back. When you check your advanced menu settings on your server are they the same?
