Feeds in WordPress

Hi experts,

New in WordPress and in using feed, RSS, Atom, etc, i set up a simple blog and now im playing with Feeds. Im totally lost, therefore i need some answers:
1. What exactly should happen when a visitor click on my RSS icon located on the footer?
2. Why when i click on that icon the browser scroll the page up, only?
3. I installed on my Chrome "RSS FEED READER" extension; when i publish a comment to a post to my blog the extension "see" and notify me. But when i publish a post the extension does not see it. Why?
4. Are some settings in WP admin section to be done? is there a code to be inserted on some *.php files?

Any help to sort these questions will be highly appreciated.

Regards,
Raul M.

Please don't ask multipart questions.  If the answers fork, the discussion will become impossible to follow.

1. What exactly should happen when a visitor click on my RSS icon located on the footer?

Depends on which browser they are using.  If I left click on an RSS icon with Firefox, I will see a formatted page with all items in the feed (assuming the feed is structured correctly).  If I right-click, I can add the feed to my Firefox bookmarks and see the list of items there.

2. Why when i click on that icon the browser scroll the page up, only?

No idea and cannot test unless you provide a link.

3. I installed on my Chrome "RSS FEED READER" extension; when i publish a comment to a post to my blog the extension "see" and notify me. But when i publish a post the extension does not see it. Why?

WordPress publishes both an article feed and a comments feed.  It sounds like you are subscribed to the comments feed and not the articles feed.

4. Are some settings in WP admin section to be done? is there a code to be inserted on some *.php files?

The feeds are automatically generated by WordPress.  If you want icons and what not to appear on the site's pages then you do need to edit your theme files and place links to the feeds where you want them to appear.

ASKER

Where i can send you the link? the blog is not secured yet
You either have to secure it and post it here or troubleshoot it yourself if you cannot post a link publicly
ok, here is the link
The RSS icon isn't linked to anything:

<a href="#" style="position: absolute; bottom: 8px; left: 6px; line-height: 32px;" class="art-rss-tag-icon" title="RSS"></a>
Pheeew, how can i solve that? in which php file to add what?

Yep.  But this is sort of a self-inflicted headache if you chose this theme.  One thing you will do as you get more familiar with WordPress is you will get a lot pickier about downloading themes because you will learn that there is a pretty wide variety in quality of code.
