What's a good GPS device for my car?

I have an old Garmin but do not want to spend $70 for the recent data.  I would like one I can stand up on my dash, not stick to my windshield. I don't really have much in the way of requirements, but one.

I hate when I am driving sight seeing to a city and have no particular address that I am going to.  My Garmin, and the one I tested at Best Buy, force me to enter an address.  I always try

"1 Main St"

Does anyone know of a GPS which figured out this complex problem by having a default location for the center of town?

I would consider this in my decision.

What other things shall I consider?

Traffic reports? (Is this wireless?)
Online updates of data?
What features?

Where are the best prices?
