How to stop HP Print Notification

User generated imageHi,

I have a HP LaserJet P3010 printer on XP PC. Whenever it prints, it shows a popup window and it bothers the user.
I took  care of this years ago, but don't recall how. So far I have gone to Server Properties in Printers folder and unchecked those checkboxes already, but to no avail.
  Please help.

Just unistall then reinstall the drivers and being careful to uncheck the boxes so that these options do not show up. If you don't see check boxes there may be an option to select what gets installed when you click on this link you will be able to uncheck the boxes that give the toner warnings.

I deleted the printer and re-installed the driver from the scratch before posting this question.
I did not see much options.
When it pops up next click on settings and choose disable
If your user is printing via a server (in a Terminal Services session for example) you'll need to do this on the server too.

Per article, I tried to disable the notification status. After I disabled, I click [Apply] button. When I come back, it is reset back to [Enabled].
The Printe Server Property setting is only one that maintained "Disabled" status. The other two does not hold the change as you see.
Does removing the tick from "Enabled" in Notification Settings work?
If not for the time being switch the option to only notify if the printer stops working.

LIke I said above, except Server Property windows, the other two reset things back to "Enabled" as soon as I exit the window.
It appears that something else is controlling Print Status notification function.
Oops, forgot to ask you about hidden icons!

This is about the notification not showing but you just do it the other way around, change to "always hide" .

If you've already done this are you printing direct or via a server (Citrix RDC etc)?

In the printer properties/Advanced tab, I chose the driver that matched the name of the printer name.
