Can't search in Outlook Web App (OWA)

I;m prepending this additional information to the text of a previous post.  I subsequently accessed my Exchange server from outside the local network, that is from home, with a Windows machine, not a Mac.  Same result:  "cannot perform that operation.  Try again."  

Has something happened to Outlook Web App?

New problem, about a week or two old.

Environment:  Macmini running OS X 10.7.2.  Accessing email on Exchange 2010 server through Outlook Web Access, from within the domain a follows in a Safari browser:

https://ipaddress_of_server/owa

Signing into OWA is fine, as is reading, composing, sending messages.

When anything is typed in the search box and Enter pressed, on one machine (the actual user of the email account in question, the following message is displayed:

"The action cannot be completed.  Please try again"

On another identically configured machine, going into the same email account on the same server in the same way (OWA, that is) does this.  If I query on a string, I don't get a "no can do" message as on the machine described in the paragraph above, but all the messages in the inbox (which was the folder with focus) become invisible.  I can still see messages in other folders.  If I click on Options and then back on Mail, the messages in Inbox are visible again.

Might my machines or by OWA have been affected by an update from Microsoft?  That would be about the only changes to my Exchange operation.

Any suggestions for remedies?

I haven't tried these yet, but I'm overly long in closing this.  They do look promising though.  I'll come back if I need more help.

I have been using the Outlook Web App for months with No problems. No, I too am receiving the following message..." The action couldn't be completed. Please try again" whenever I try to run a search. Now, I can access the email on my phone, and run the search, successfully, on the Email App for my phone. Back to my laptop; I have tried opening the Outlook Web App in Chrome, Firefox and the new Internet Explorer.

HELP! I need to be able to search my email.
