Win Vista: Office 2003 vs Office 2010

Hi,

My original office program is Office 2003 professional. I am using the Windows Vista Home Premium (SP2). I uninstalled the above Office 2003 and Installed the Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010.

I do not have problems with Microsoft Excel 2010 and Microsoft PowerPoint 2010, but I have problem with Microsoft Word 2010.

When I go to Start > All Program > Click Microsoft Office, I can see:
-      Microsoft Excel 2010
-      Microsoft OneNote 2010
-      Microsoft PowerPoint 2010
-      Microsoft Word 2010
-      Microsoft Office 2010 Tools

I have an arrangement of Folders at the DESKTOP as the followings:

Source\Father\Son

Under folder “Son”, there are a lot of folders; one of it is “Golf”

The GOAL: To create a file of Microsoft Word inside folder "Golf"

Last Time, when I was using the Office 2003 to achieve the goal, I just did like this:
-Right-click “Golf” > Select “New” > Select “Microsoft Word”, and I would get the Microsoft Word’s file

Now, when I am using the above new office 2010, I have a problem like this:
-Right-click “Golf”, and I can NOT see “NEW”
- I have to double-click “Golf “ > after a “new window” opens > I right-click > then I can see “Microsoft Excel”, “Microsoft PowerPoint”, and “others”, BUT I did not see “Microsoft Word”

The things that I did in order to achieve the goal:
-      Start > All Program > Microsoft Office > Select Microsoft Word > When “the windows open” > go to File >Select “Save As” > then navigate to  > Desktop>Source>Father>Son>Golf …then give the name of the file and save it there ……so it is very complicated

My Questions:
First: Should I install something, maybe “conversion file” from Office 2003 to Office 2010? ( I believe I did CLEAN install)

Second: Should I uninstall again this Office 2010, and install back to achieve the above Goal?

Thank you

Hi,

It does NOT work.
I double-click the folder ("GOLF") > right-click > I only see "Microsoft PowerPoint" and "Microsoft Excel" .....
I did NOT see "Microsoft Word" at all .....
It is still the same as BEFORE

I also uninstalled and installed back Microsoft 2010, but it did not help; It is the same result.
Any expert is able to solve this?
Thanks

@jackieman,

No, I did not
But I just did it by following your instruction --> "Start > All Program > Click Microsoft Office > Microsoft Word 2010"

But The problem is still the same

Should I uninstall and install back this Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010?
Let me know please

Thanks,
tjie

@jackieman

I did do your direction --> """ Goto Control Panel->Programs->Programs and Features to repair Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010"""

Then, the system asked me to Restart or Reboot. I rebooted and  the result is the SAME as above. It does not work. Any other option?

Thanks,
