Recreate another DC

Hello guys,
I have 3 different DCs in different sites.  One of the stopped working and I will have to install it to another server.  My primary DC runs under Windows 2008 and it is OK      .  I have
to create another machine and promote it to the same domain to be a DC in another site. What should I do?  Can I install that server using Windows 2008 Server R2 or Windows Server 2012 instead of Windows 2008 Server?

As pointed out you can use any you choose, provided you update the schema for the newer ones.
IMHO since this is a remote location, I would go with the same version 2008/r2,
Was the remote DC a read only?

Are you asking whether the install should. Occur at the main office and then transported to the remote location?

Hello guys,

I decided to install Windows 2008 Server instead of R2 or 2012.
I have a DC running Windows 2008 Server in mydomain.com, IP: 192.168.3.2, another DC in mydomain.com, IP: 192.168.2.2 and I´ll recreate the third DC, IP 192.168.1.2.
What is the easiest way to promote it as a new DC?

Thank you.

I cannot demote my old server because it is down.  I have a new one and I want to promote it again.
If you have a site to site VPN, you can just dcpromo it.
You can use the primary to perform the cleanup to remove the old one.

Sorry.  But how can I perform the cleanup to remove the old one?  I have access to the primary DC.
