Western D vs Seagate vs Toshiba USB 3 2.5" HDD

I'm comparing between the 3 brands USB 3 2.5" HDDs
to see which of the 3

a) is most reliable (doesn't crash easily)
b) best performance (say they all are of the same 5400rpm HDDs)
& which one has more cache built in
c) ease of getting driver (& driver updates) for Windows platform
d) years of warranty

For Toshiba, I found its USB cable is quite loose & the USB
connection would drop easily if I touch the cable lightly.

I'm looking at something light weight & small built so 3.5" HDDs
are out for me.  I've seen 3.5" WD & Seagate USB HDDs crashed
but I've not seen 2.5" USB HDDs crash so far (but I don't own
any Seagate 2.5" HDD, only 2.5" models from WD, Ovation, Toshiba
& Iomega).  Thing about Toshiba is its USB cable tend to be loose.

For Rindi's suggestion, can someone provide me an amazon.com
url / link for the drive casing & the Hitachi HDD that go with it.
I was told HDD has the 2nd best performance and best value for
price when I last got a NAS with SATA HDDs for the company.
