Group Policy Management Error

Good Afternoon Experts,

I appear to be having a bit of trouble with one of my DC's.

To start this off I will have to give you a bit of history. This DC was the Secondary Domain Controller within our domain, aswell as containing DNS. The server disks became bad and had to be replaced. We took this oppurtunity to move the server on to a new Rack box as prior it was in a desktop. The Restore Process was carried out and all was successfull, but now it appears to not be acting as a Secondary DC Should. I am unable to view my Group Policy settings withing Group Policy Manangement (I get the following error "An error ocurred while generating report: Could not load file or assembly 'System.DirectoryServices, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b04f5f1f99d60a3a' or one of its dependencies. The System cannot file the file specifued). It still resolves dns addresses through nslookup but it will not resolve logons.

This server does not hold any of the FSMO Roles and was working correctly prior to the re-build/move. So my guess is that that is where the issue arrose and it has only been noticed now.

Is it possible this is a security issue between this server and the Main DC and requires its SSID to be refreshed? if so how do i do that.

Thank you for your detailed answer iSiek. I had a feeling that I would have to demote the server and then re-promote. I will schedule this for the weekend and tbh it should do the job.

Thanks for the answer sarang_tinguria, I was a bit concerned that I would have to format the the disks. But I see no reason why this cannot be done gracefully. And thank you pr0t0c0l12  for giving me some food for thought
You're welcome :)
