File Repository Server in Crystal Reports Developer XI can cascading formulas be applied or custom functions maintained there.

Does the File Repository in Crystal Reports Developer work in the following way.....?
I have a formula that needs constant modification in 15 different locations. (15 different reports) It is a huge pain to change a price for instance for a commodity in those 15 different locations. I understood that a custom function could be created and it could be stored in the File Repository. Once there the function could be dragged into each and every report like a logo or text object into the report. Once opened the File Repository would act as a conduit to each report updating the report while running. Thus giving the users the ability to maintain a formula in one location relieving them of the responsibility of updating 15 different locations individually.
Is this how File Repository works. If so can you break down the steps. what I need to do is in the next part of my question which is titled. Custom Functions in Crystal Reports Developer XI
Please advise and thank you.

I also noticed that even though we can log into the Repository Explorer and see what is in the Crystal Enterprise. When I go to the Custom Functions

Why can't we see the Add to Repository if we can see every thing else when we log on to Crystal Enterprise.

Is there something missing in our setup. Please advise. Thank you.
mlmcc yes sir it is.
That will be difficult to rewrite as a function since it involves many fields from the database.

My question is  a little different than your answer. I see your point but i was wondering how I can even create a custom function because I cannot even see where I can add a custom function to the repository. What I am trying to figure out if there is something I need to check inside of Crystal Reports Developer or if there is something I need to do with Business Objects Enterprise so that users can add a custom function to the repository.

Wait I need some clarity.....I either missed something in the translation or I am misunderstanding how custom functions work.

Can a custom function be a fully completed formula.....that when you edit the function it updates where ever the function is used.

Such as:
If {fieldvalue1} = "???" then ({{Price=.25} * {Qty}) else 0
or
If {fieldvalue1} = "X??" then ({Price=.50} * {Qty}) else 0
or
If {fieldvalue1} = "?X?" then ({Price=.75}  * {Qty}) else 0
or
If {fieldvalue1} = "??X" then ({Price=1.50} * {Qty}) else 0

So if my 15 reports have this formula embedded in it.
If I change the function say for instance Prices change on each of the above lines and I go to the custom function can I just go into the function change the prices and wallah the custom function populates all reports with the updates to the price changes.. Correct?

My reason for asking is it seems that most of the custom functions have data entry areas that are required. Can Custom functions be complete......so to speak so that it you dropped them in modified that they are ready to go.
