SSAS and SQL server 2005 relation database

Is it possible to create a dimensional database that will store information from an older database that is not normalized to utilize SSAS?  We have a database on a virtual MS SQL Server 2005 which I have been able to use to create reports in SSRS but can't seem to access with SSAS.  We have a seperate server for the AdventureWorks database, which I can access with SSAS but I can't access the live production server (MS SQL Server 2008 R2) with SSAS.  I'd like to create a dimensional database on the AW server (where I know SSAS works) and populate it with information from the 2005 database.  We have reports sent out once a week at noon so I can update the data manually.  Is this easy/feasable?
