Should I upgrade to Windows 8??

I have a Toshiba PC with Windows 7 on it.
PC is two years old with 4GB.

See attachment with more specifications.

There is a feature in Windows 8 (regarding parental controls) that I would like to have.

Should I upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8?

I hesitate in doing so, just in case Windows 8 is more demanding on my PC.  Or perhaps Windows 8 is not a proven product?  My PC is stable and I do not wish to cause problems.

SHOULD I UPGRADE?

Thanks

Folks !
Two answers so far - both helpful.
But one say YES and the other says NO.

Any other views out there?

McKnife, the parental control is one which (I think) means that I will be able to restrict my son to a specific number of hours on the PC per week.  I believe that windows 8 is more powerful in this area.

Why not try it and install windows 8 to a virtual hard drive on the same computer? No need to repartition, no performance problems, a real installation, not virtual. Leaves no traces.
See http://blogs.msdn.com/b/cesardelatorre/archive/2012/02/29/installing-windows-8-consumer-preview-as-vhd-from-a-bootable-usb-pen-on-a-samsung-slate-series-7-tablet.aspx (works with the upgrade version or trial of win8 enterprise, too).
Interesting views from all and thanks.

Being a little curious and a little adventureous I upgraded .... not successfully ... see next question!
