How do you manage a MySQL database using phyMyAdmin

I'm tasked with moving a database to a new server and I'm looking at a crop of files that have the following extensions:

myd
myi
frm

I know they're extensions belonging to a mysql database, but I've never maintained a MySQL database w/o phpmyadmin.

How do you import these files into a phyMyAdmin interface? Or do you?

Sorry to be so clueless, but there it is.

from the mysql CLI run the command

create database <DATABASE NAME> ;

once created copy the file into the directory structure and ensure the permission are set to the correct user.

copy these files into the directory and you should find everything will fall into place.

if these file are in an already active DB server simply use the mysqldump command to export the file to and sql script you can import to your new server.

export
eg mysqldump -u <USERNAME> -p <DATABASENAME> >filename.sql

import
create the database first
mysql -u <USERNAME> -p <DATABASENAME> < filename.sql
