Tomcat 7.0.32 and IIS 7.5 production setup

Needing urgent help with setting up Tomcat 7.0.32 alongside IIS 7.5 (Windows 2008 R2 x64) in a production environment.

The goal is to use Geoserver 2.2 as a WMS server.

There are already some .NET websites running which must not be interfered with.

Tomcat and Geoserver are setup and working locally via http://localhost:8080/.

I have registered a domain and now need to get this setup and  working on the (public) internet.

Got it working by installing Apache httpd server, binding Apache to a different IP address to IIS and then in the httpd.conf making the following changes:

Uncomment:
LoadModule proxy_module modules/mod_proxy.so
LoadModule proxy_ajp_module modules/mod_proxy_ajp.so

Add:
ProxyRequests Off
<Proxy *>
      Order deny,allow
      Allow from all
</Proxy>
ProxyPass /geoserver ajp://localhost:8009/geoserver
ProxyPassReverse /geoserver ajp://localhost:8009/geoserver

@MrCoffee365: You get the points for being the only person to reply. Although I had already gone through something similar to the steps in the article you posted, this one does seem to give better detail.
Great - congrats on getting it working.

You must have wanted to have 2 web servers.  The directions I posted were for having IIS redirect directly to tomcat, not to another web server (Apache), which then in turn will redirect to tomcat.  Does geoserver require the apache web server as well as tomcat?
