Exchange 2003

Hello,

We Transfert our mail system from Exc2003 to Exc2010. Everything was Ok, except when we tried to delete the old EXC2003 server from Exchange organization, uninstall failed. On the EXC2003 no Exchange service is visible in processes window or listed in services window.
Now, our Exc 2010 works fine but we have couple of errors like this one: "SACL Watcher servicelet encountered an error while monitoring SACL change.
Got error 1722 opening group policy on system Exc2003.DOMAIN.local in domain DOMAIN."
We found MS KB 830185, on which people explain that we can delete old EXC 2000 or 2003  installation with the following command: Install_Path \setup.exe /removeorg.

Has somebody done this kind of thing without any damage to the EXC 2010 org ?

Thanks you for your quick answer.
Event 2080 is:
Process MSEXCHANGEADTOPOLOGYSERVICE.EXE (PID=1760). Exchange Active Directory Provider has discovered the following servers with the following characteristics:
(Server name | Roles | Enabled | Reachability | Synchronized | GC capable | PDC | SACL right | Critical Data | Netlogon | OS Version)
In-site:
dc1. DMN.local      CDG 1 7 7 1 0 1 1 7 1
exc2003. DMN.local      CDG 1 7 7 1 0 1 1 7 1
dc2. DMN.local      CDG 1 7 7 1 0 1 1 7 1
dc6. DMN.local      CDG 1 7 7 1 0 1 1 7 1
 Out-of-site:
Was the old Exchange a DC\GC as well ?
Which server has the FSMO roles ?

- Rancy
Yes it was a DC/GC, the FSMO roles are owned by DC2.

Thank you for your help !
So was that server completely removed gracefully ?

- Rancy
Hello, Sorry for the delay !

No, there was a timeout and no error message.
Maybe that the process was killed before its end, after many hours of waiting...

What can we do ?
Rancy ? Are you there ?
Yes me just back .... as i asked was the Old server Exchange&DC\GC if so was it removed gracefully.

- Rancy
No, there were a timeout problem, it was like the server did not respond... After many hours we restarted the server. The uninstall process was not complete...
Now there is nothing about Exchange under "Add/remove programs" and running services on the server, but the serveur appears again in the Exchange Organization.

Where do we have to delete it properly ?

Thanks !
You can delete the Object from ESM itself for exchange .... but for DC you will have to run through with Metadata cleanup :)

I would also sugegst you to run through with www.exbpa.com and see what all issues it reports and it would also give you details how to resolve them :)

- Rancy
Thank you Rancy !

We'll test that.
Sorry for the delay, it is not an urgent case so we spend time on that only when we have some time and we do not had many time theses last weeks...

Sorry, we test it as soon as possible.
