502 Proxy error - WAS CE - Need Urgent Solution

Hi All,

I am experiencing some strange 502 Proxy Error.  We are using Websphere Community Edition  appliction server. Opening the URL as iFrame source.

<iframe onload="handleIframeResponse(this,304)" src="/mst/sm/prdtAction.do?rfcNumber=20398;system="></iframe>

For most of the cases, opening call is working good. ie
Open the URL through iFrame  ==> Process java/servlet code ==> Render the response in UI.
For some cases:
Open the URL through iFrame  ==> Process java/servlet code ==> 502 Proxy error.

This issue is happening arbitrary. I mean, I cannot guess when I will receive correct response, when I will receive 502.

Can anyone please let me know how to fix this issue. Kindly let me know if any additional details are required.

Thanks for the useful link. Below are the required details.
WAS CE Version - 2.1.1.4
OS platform - Linux
I am not able to see any errors/messages in the server logs.

Also this is happening only in our production server but not in test server. I am not able to regenerate the same issue in our test environment and do not have any control over production servers.

Any help/idea to solve this issue will be great help.
Dear Experts,

Can anyone please give me any alternative solutions for this issue?

Thanks Gary Patterson for detailed explanation about proxy error. At this time our production server logs are not updating, so do not have much info about the error. I raies this issue with our Admin team. I will post the server log details sometime later.
