Upgrade to Windows 8 Failed

Hi all,

I paid for an upgrade to windows 8 (from Microsoft website).

My machine spent about an hour downloading and installing etc.

Unfortunately, my very last message was something like "Windows 8 Update Failed - Your Computer will be restored to previous settings".

Bottom Line: My computer works fine but is still using Windows 7.

How can I find out why if failed? (There did not appear to be an error message)
Have I wasted my upgrade money??

Thanks,

THanks,

I am looking at my windows logs - nothing looks especially odd to my untrained eye.

There are 4-sub sections beneath "Windows Logs" as follows;
Application,Security,Setup,System,Forwarded Events

Should I be looking in any one of these four in particular?

Hi Gary. You mean, MS does not do integrity checks on the downloaded setup file before they start setup? Of course they do. But nevertheless, 21Dewsbury could retry it, repeating the same action produces different results on the same computer as we all learn at some point.

There will be setup logs remaining, but I don't know where, I would have to google myself.
