Exchange 2010 Journaling

Hi

We are using Journaling on Exchange 2010, I download the emails into Thunderbird to use as a basic archiving service.

Once an email has been downloaded into Thunderbird, is the email then removed from the Exchange server?  Or is it's removal done on a per setting basis in Thunderbird?

If downloaded emails are not removed from the Exchange server, is there anyway to remove them or check how much space the Journal is taking up?

Many thanks

Many thanks for your reply

I have recently changed the Thunderbird setting to leave mail on the there for 1 day.

Not sure if it has deleted mail before that or not - is there any way in the management console (or shell) to check the mailbox size of the journal?

Many thanks
